Jacketing and Coated Wire
Biomerics coats or jackets wire, fiber optics, mandrels, polyimide, or other materials in both continuous and cut-to-length sizes. Common applications include data transmission, diagnostics, guide wires, steerable catheters, and coated hypotube.
Like co-extrusions, composite constructions are used when the properties of multiple materials are desired in single tube. Jacketing is used to add insulative, impact, elongation, lubricity, kink, and tensile properties to extrusions.
Biomerics can jacket fiber optics, polymer extrusions, and wire in both reel-to-reel processes; as well as, manual mandrel processes. These extrusions can also include lumens and co-extrusion materials.
All Biomerics tubes are manufactured to the highest quality standards in an ISO 13485:2003 registered white room. Tubes maybe purchased cut-to-length, coiled, and in protective packaging. We utilize the latest technologies in the areas of continuous in-line monitoring, optical measurement, water treatment, head design, screw design, and pull systems.
