Wound Care
Wound repair, is an intricate process in which the skin repairs itself after injury. Once the protective barrier of the epidermis is broken, the normal (physiologic) process of wound healing is immediately set in motion. Wound care is the treatment of injuries caused by burns, infections, ulcers, lacerations, or general damage to skin tissue. Wound care products accelerate and support the healing process to the body’s skin cells and tissue. The classic model of wound healing is divided into three sequential, yet overlapping, phases: inflammatory, proliferative, and remodeling.
Biomerics engineered polymers (product names) are ideal for both general and advanced wound care. They are beneficial to the wound care market due to their ability to be extruded into thin films that exhibit characteristics of strength, biostability, biocompatibility, barrier properties and vapor transmission. – Confirm these are accurate
